After getting a tire blow out the night before and having trouble removing some of the lug nuts, I felt I could no longer wait and ordered this item the next morning. As soon as you take it in your hands you have that feeling that this is nothing more than a toy and it will not do the job. Much to my surprise it did take off 3 of my 5 lug nuts on one wheel and then it just quit working. This is a cheap,poorly made tool that you cannot rely on. You would be much better off purchasing a good four way chrome tire lug wrench and adding on a three foot pipe extention to it for more leverage. Thanks to AMAZON'S wonderful return policy I was able to send it right back for a full refund.

(More customer reviews)First off, people are getting this transmitter confused with the previous Monster FM transmitter.You are NOT limited to only 8 stations.This transmitter allows you to program in ANY station you choose, and it's very easy to do so.

Pros:
You can program in any station!The stations are NOT predetermined so any empty station you find, just program it in and youre set to go, which makes this perfect for road trips.

Charges up your iPod while you go.

You can set three 'favourite' stations so you can switch back and forth between a couple if one goes out.

Very simple and easy to use.Not a lot of cords to get tangled up.

Cons
Every FM transmitter you buy for your iPod is going to have a loss in sound quality.It is NOT going to sound like youre playing a CD.It sounds like the radio.

No dock or anything to set the little station switcher on.I would've like even a double sided sticker mount so I could stick it to the dash or something instead of it hanging there, but I'm really just being picky here.

Finding a station in the surrounding Cleveland area was tough!There are hardly any completely static stations (I never realized how many darn country stations there are here, yeesh.)So far I have found 4 open stations.However, this is NOT the companys fault.Finding a clear open station is soley going to depend on where you live and where you are when you drive.

I found 3 completely open static stations starting at 87.5 and up.OF COURSE, this FM transmitter starts at 88.1.Grrr.But it wasn't a problem because in the end I was able to find 4 open ones throughout the spectrum.However, it would've been nice if it started at 87.5.

Okay this is COMPLETELY an aesthetic complaint but I dislike red LED lights.My car has blue so it doesn't match, but once again, that is completely nitpicking.

All in all, this is worth the money.It really is a must if you want to play your iPod on the road, but don't expect it to sound like your surround sound home theatre system.It is an FM transmitter.

Archos Car Power Adapter (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a truly awful design and not at all what one would expect from a great innovator like Archos.First of all, the connector does not fit securely into the device socket.This causes two problems:1) You have to jiggle the connector until the display indicates that power is actually being received and 2) Once you actually are receiving power, you must position it so that it won't jiggle further, lest you lose power--very difficult to do in a moving vehicle!Secondly, the cable is made of really flimsy materials and doesn't seem likely to survive very many uses.Finally, it doesn't charge while the device is in use, so you will still have to plug it in when you get to your destination, defeating the benefit of such a great portable device.

Sunforce 81096 Solar Shed Light Review

(More customer reviews)When the factory-charged batteries ran out the solar panel would not charge the light.This was a fluorescent version.The replacement unit- quickly sent by Amazon -was LED.The same case and everything but with bright LEDs inside.I liked it much better than the fluorescent one.
The second unit charged and worked very well until the charge was depleted.Then the LEDs would start blinking.Like an emergency light.Sunforce said that this was not normal behavior.I returned it as well.The light will stay up for around two hours, charge quickly but the blinking made it unfit for continuous use.A nice product but quallity needs to be improved.

(More customer reviews)Ok, I give it 5 stars although out of four I bought, two would not charge properly, but at 3.99 it was worth the extra effort to get them going.Here is the problem with some of these, the batteries have been sitting a while, so after you charge it for a few minutes, some of these may show they are charged, even though they are not.The batteries need to be cycled in these and all of mine have come back to life.Here is what you can do to help bring them back...

1) Charge unit until LED goes green (with a battery that needs to be cycled, it may show its charged after a few minutes.With battery that is in good shape and being dead, it should take around 4 hours to charge)
2) Unplug charger and turn on unit.It may go dead after a few minutes, thats OK.After it shuts itself off, wait 10 minutes.

Repeat the steps above and it should come back to life.The most I repeated the above steps were 4 times before it accepted a full charge, and all mine work now.Hope this helps someone if theirs does not take a proper charge...

(More customer reviews)I purchased this from Amazon on a whim during a lightening sale.My wife was understandably skeptical, as it appeared I had bought an expensive radio/tire pump.

She was readying the car for a long road trip and by accident left the car on.Battery was quite dead.We own a Prius and one of the quirks is that if the car is jumped with too much power it resets the computer and the windows don't work right.We experienced that a few years ago when a friend jumped our car.

The Wagan was fresh out of the box (we had only gotten it the day before).Fully charged and ready to go.I went outside, hooked up the Wagan to the two posts in the fuse box and we started the car.Less than five minutes from learning the car battery was dead to having it run again.That was because I had to go in the house and get the charger...

Suffice to say, the Wagan is kept in the car all the time-even when space is a premium.We know that if we get a flat, the unit can inflate the tire long enough to get to safety.
The flashlight is bright and even though as the other reviewer states the doors are flimsy, but we are not rough with it.
We haven't used it as such but it will power lights for a few hours while car camping.
It can be used for charging any electrical devices or even running a shaver!They thought of everything and if there is any deficiency, it is that there's almost too much to use it for.

We like this mobile power unit and recommend it to anyone owning a vehicle dependent on electricity to start.

Bottom Line:

WE FEEL MUCH SAFER WITH THE WAGAN ALONG!

(More customer reviews)I thought this power supply did better than I expected.Running a Dell D610 under normal use, I got about 50 minutes with.Given that it has 4Mah of storage, that is better than I could have hoped for.I would caution anyone that thinks they should get 9 hours of computer battery life to read the specs and understand what the power requirements of a computer are. There isn't an easily portable product on the market that can do that. A gas generator would but they don't allow those on airplane for some reason???All kidding aside, one issue that anyone using this with a laptop should realize is that it won't automatically kick the computer into an energy saving mode like it does when you switch to your internal battery so the power draw will be higher and the battery won't last as long even though it is rated pretty close to the same capacity as a normal laptop battery.Anyway, it does well charging my gadgets which is the real reason I bought it anyway.It is worth spending the extra money on this instead of the smaller one because it will give a full charge to the palm, camera battery and the cell phone at the same time.

(More customer reviews)I've owned this charger for 5 years.It has a "manual" function, meaning that you can charge a battery past the normal 80% that the automatic chargers will.It means you can also charge one more quickly because the automatic function (also on this unit) of most chargers tapers off the amperage sent to the charger as it reaches 80% of charge.(15 amps also goes faster than ten.)Manual means you can also "condition" a battery to get the sulfites off of the plates, by carefully charging and watching to the point where the battery plates begin to gas off.Means a battery will take and maintain a better charge and last longer.I use it on the RV cabin battery for this, but also use it regularly just for car stuff.

All this and it does what other chargers do.2 amp trickle charge, high powered capacitor starting function.

I DROVE OVER THIS CHARGER WITH A 5000 POUND 1986 LTD CROWN VICTORIA TODAY!FLAT as a pancake.Ahem, well.First plugged it in and promptly blew the garage circuit breaker.Immediately started hunting for other Schumacher chargers on the net.After spending two hours and seeing this particular unit is now over $100 new, thought "Well, let's see if I somehow tear it apart and look."No sooner got the mangled housing off, and (uuuhhh!!) bent the back upright (which had a circuit board on it), plugged it in, and it works!!And, in the course of bending back the heavy steel housing, NO paint flaked off.Must be baked-on enamel.These babies are built tough.As another reviewer for Schumacher chargers said, "No repackaged imported junk".

I take my hat off to this company: features, durability (!), quality........ wow.

(More customer reviews)So far this unit has performed well. I used it to jump-start a raggedy old farm tractor, and the little box seems to have an impressive amount of cranking power (for short bursts, anyway).

I've used the inflator twice to inflate a car and a truck tire. Takes awhile to get a tire up to pressure, but's that's normal with these little compressors. For it's size, it's quite adequate as an emergency air source. Took me about 8 minutes to bring the car tire up from 25 PSI to 45 PSI (under the weight of the vehicle). Really not that bad.

The truck tire took a bit longer, as I had to stop the unit to let it cool down. B&D recommends running the inflator for no more than 10 minutes continuously. Total time to bring this nearly-flat tire up to pressure: Just under a half-hour. Again, not too shabby considering how small this thing is.

I like the layout of the controls and indicators. Clear, easy to read, easy to access. Storage for the jumper cables is OK. I'd prefer to see them stowed in a sealed compartment, but they seem pretty secure. Keep the clamps clean, and there shouldn't be any issues storing this in a car.

Storage for the inflator hose is cheesy. It's stuffed into a tiny compartment, and you have to really bend the hose in order to get it inside. The maximum length of the air hose is about 2 feet. You must set the unit very close to the tire for the hose to reach the valve. Not a problem for me so far, but keep this in mind if you need a unit with a long reach. B&D could have done better here.

A major gripe I have is that the inflator has no provision for a backup power source. Depending on how long the internal battery will remain charged in storage, you might find it lacks the juice to power the unit in an emergency. Why couldn't B&D include a 12V cigarette adaptor for this situation? For a unit that's supposed to be a piece of emergency gear, this seems like a glaring oversight. You'd better hope that the internal battery is extremely reliable - without it, the unit is useless. Could have been a five-star rating if not for that issue.

Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase. Reliability will be the ultimate test, and it's still too early to pass judgement. If it holds up season after season, and delivers the goods when really needed, I may change my rating to 5 stars. For under 100 bucks, I'd say give it a try.

UPDATE: 12 Jan 2010
The inflator died on me, with less than 4 hours total runtime. The motor was cranking away, but there was no air pressure at all. Brought it to a B&D service center, and paid $15 to have a new one shipped to my home. No hassle at all returning the unit, and the replacement is working as advertised - so far. Maybe I just got a lemon, so I'm not going to downgrade the rating at this time. Will check back at a later date.

(More customer reviews)Every time I want to fire up my old 71 Datsun (that's Nissan for those of you younger than 30) 240 Z there's a good chance that the battery has drained down and that I can't start it! Looking around at car forums I read about this nifty little gadget....It's like a battery trickle charger....sort of. Whereas it's not recommended to keep a trickle charger hooked up all the time, this one hascircuitry to limit the current and sense when the battery needs charging. It only charges at 1.25 amps which is easier on the battery.

I've had it on for a month now and it's great. The first couple of days, the red light was on indicating charging. Since then it's been on green and the car starts right up. I live in Houston where the heat and humidity can be just as brutal on batteries as the cold.

I highly recommend this "tender" for those that have cars that stay unused for long periods.

As other reviews have mentioned it comes with a set of adapters that allow you to permanently attach pigtails to the battery posts and then you can quickly connect the tender without having to use the alligator clips (also included).

For the price and free shipping you can't go wrong!

UPDATE after two years of use.
I can now reconfirm that these battery tenders work great - I've had them hooked up continuously on two cars that stay in the garage a lot and I've NEVER had them not start right up. A quick glance at the LED display lets me know that the batteries are either charging or fully charged. It's a real pleasure to be able to go right up and enjoy your wheels without having to worry about whether the battery is dead. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that it lengthens the life of the battery as well.
